SURVICE’s core competency has always been, and continues to be, supporting and conducting vulnerability/lethality studies and analyses (S&A) of foreign and domestic weapon systems. We conduct a wide variety of ballistic and nonballistic survivability analyses from a number of different perspectives, including threat-target interactions; susceptibility and vulnerability reduction; component, system, and mission performance; technology optimization; personnel vulnerability and wound ballistics; fire prediction and mitigation; and electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) and lightning.
In addition, notable or recent air, ground, and sea systems that our S&A efforts have helped influence include:
- Rotary-Wing Systems: Comanche, AH-64, MH-60, CH-53E, MH-47G, V-22
- Fixed-Wing Systems: JSF, F-22, ABL, B2, F-14, F-18, AV-8B, A-6, P-3, UCAR, Predator
- Ground Systems: M109A6, M1A2, M2A3, EFV (previously AAAV), LAV, Stryker, FCS
- Sea Systems: DDG51, DD(X)
- Missile Systems: PAC2/3, Harpoon/SLAM, MANPADS
- Engines: T700, F119, F135, and T406
- Various Foreign Platforms
