SURVICE Announces Open-Source Release of High-Performance Raytracing Library at NVIDIA GTC 2013

At the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2013, which was held in San Jose, CA, from 18 to 21 March, SURVICE announced the release of Rayforce™, a high-performance raytracing library, as an open-source project.  Version 2.0 of the library was specifically designed to leverage NVIDIA’s Kepler GPUs and is currently the fastest known raytracer in the world, with performance that can exceed 1 billion rays/second on a single NVIDIA GTX 690 GPU.  In addition to providing state-of-the-art raytracing performance, Rayforce™ provides accurate, in-order, multi-hit capabilities required for many physics-based simulations in which path traversal is as important as first-hit ray intersection.  SURVICE developed Rayforce™ in support of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
